NiMH Battery Chargers
At the time of writing NiMH (nickel-meral hydride cell) batteries of all sizes are the most popular type of rechargeable batteries both for their properties - high capacity and lack of memory effect (technically speaking) - and affordable price although they have somewhat higher self-discharge rate. NiMH batteries can be charged up to 1000 times what makes them ideal for all who frequently use high-drain devices.
Finding a NiMH charger should not be a problem. A NiMH charger often comes with batteries and you can also choose between a wide range of NiMH chargers: fast, smart, simple, universal, solar, etc. from different manufacturers, of different capacities and prices. Which one to choose greatly depends on your needs but it may be wise to keep in mind some facts about charging of NiMH batteries. NiMH batteries are very sensitive to overcharging and bigger currents which reduce their capacity and cause premature battery failure. Long term damage due to high rates of charging is most likely to occur if using fast chargers (15 minute and 1 hour chargers). Users and experts commonly recommend use of smart NiMH chargers which control charging by shutting off automatically when the batteries are fully charged or switch to trickle charging.
Apart from choosing a NiMH charger which meets you demands it is also not recommendable to charge batteries of different manufacturers simultaneously even if they are technically the same and can be charged in the same charger. Never charge batteries of different sizes at the same time either.
